INTRODUCTION

Advances in science and technology in the field of sports science have become one of the key pillars in efforts to improve the quality of life and well-being of society. Sports science not only focuses on enhancing athletic performance but also plays a strategic role in supporting the development of inclusive, sustainable, and evidence-based sports. The application of sport science in sports development contributes significantly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. This goal emphasizes the importance of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.

Sports developed using a sport science approach can be an effective tool for improving physical, mental, and social health. This approach encompasses various aspects, including physiology, sports psychology, biomechanics, nutrition, and sports technology, all of which support the achievement of optimal performance while minimizing the risk of injury. The synergy between these fields in sports science also drives the creation of sports policies and programs that are accessible to all segments of society, thereby contributing to the development of healthy, productive, and prosperous communities.

The Faculty of Sports Science at Semarang State University is organizing an international seminar titled “International Conference on Physical Education, Health, and Sports,” abbreviated as ICOPHS. The previous name before ICOPHS was ISMINA, which stands for Internal Conference on Sports, Health, and Physical Education. ISMINA was held in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2017, and 2021.

The specific objective of ICOPHS is to provide a platform for researchers, educators, students, practitioners, and anyone else with similar interests or backgrounds to meet each other, to study and discuss issues, ideas, and work focused on physical education, sports training, and sports science.
