INTRODUCTION
The development of science and technology in sports (sports science) is transforming into a multidimensional, data-driven discipline. Global health challenges and the demands of increasingly competitive sport performance require a strong integration between theory and practice. Sports science also plays a strategic role in supporting inclusive and sustainable sports development. The application of sports science to sports development makes a significant contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically points 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). These points emphasize the importance of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all people of all ages.
The success of sports development through a sports science approach is key to addressing the complex needs of elite athletes and the general public seeking to improve their quality of life. The sports science approach encompasses various aspects, from physiology and sports psychology to biomechanics and nutrition, to sports technology, supporting optimal performance while minimizing the risk of injury. Synergy across sports science disciplines also encourages the creation of sports policies and programs that are accessible to all levels of society, contributing to the creation of healthy, productive, and prosperous communities.
The Faculty of Sports Science at Semarang State University is organizing an international seminar titled “International Conference on Physical Activity, Health, and Sports,” abbreviated as ICOPHS. The previous name before ICOPHS was ISMINA, which stands for Internal Conference on Sports, Health, and Physical Education. ISMINA was held in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2021. The specific objective of ICOPHS is to provide a platform for researchers, educators, students, practitioners, and anyone else with similar interests or backgrounds to meet each other, to study and discuss issues, ideas, and work focused on physical activity, sports training, and sports science.
