The COVID-19 pandemic has been ongoing for more than two years. It has impacted various aspects of our life life, such as health (both physically and mentally), personal finance, and academics. It has killed millions worldwide and many lost loved ones. Our day- to-day lives were disrupted and the social dynamics of society is changed drastically. Shops and businesses were shut down and students were kept out of school.
But on the other hand, the pandemic has also brought new opportunities. Trapped within the walls of our houses we saw a rise in technology the likes our society has never seen. Thousands of new businesses emerged and many excelled in the new norms. In academics, despite the roadblock in learning, we’ve discovered new, exciting, and effective ways of learning. And most importantly, we gained more than ever awareness in the importance of our mental health.
The sudden drastic change in the dynamics of life has demanded us to adapt. And not just to do so quickly but creatively and innovatively, or risk being left behind by the rapidly moving growth train. While many have managed to catch up, others are to this day still struggling as they grapple with issues and uncertainties.
Seeing the dynamics that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education at the Universitas Negeri Semarang will hold an international seminar titled "The 1st Biennial Meeting for Research in Psychology and Education." We are inviting scientists, educational institutions, and academic communities from around the world to collaborate on new ideas and knowledge that could help us cope with the changes in the dynamics of life that occurred recently.
