Author Guidelines - ICESS 2026

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original research papers that are directly aligned with the theme and scope of ICESS 2026: Environmental Innovation, Circular Economy, and Renewable Energy Transition for Sustainable Development in Emerging Economies.

Submitted manuscripts should address one of the conference thematic tracks and contribute to scholarly discussion on environmental innovation, circular economy, renewable energy transition, green technology, low-carbon development, climate resilience, environmental governance, data-driven sustainability solutions, or sustainable development policy in emerging economies.

Manuscripts must present a clear research problem, sound methodology, relevant analysis, and a well-developed discussion. Papers should not be merely descriptive. Submissions are expected to show analytical depth, academic relevance, and a clear contribution to the conference theme.

Manuscript Preparation

All manuscripts must be written in clear academic English and prepared according to the official ICESS 2026 manuscript template. Authors should ensure that their manuscripts include the following elements:

  • Title
  • Author names and affiliations
  • Corresponding author email
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Literature review or conceptual background, where relevant
  • Research method
  • Results and discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgements, where applicable
  • References

Authors must carefully check the manuscript before submission, including language quality, formatting consistency, citation accuracy, table and figure quality, and reference completeness.

Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted through the official ICESS 2026 submission system before the stated deadline. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all required files are uploaded correctly.

Manuscripts submitted after the deadline may not be considered for review. Submissions that do not follow the official template, are incomplete, or fall outside the conference scope may be returned to the authors or rejected during the initial editorial screening.

Scope Alignment

Each submitted manuscript must be directly connected to at least one of the official ICESS 2026 thematic tracks. Papers that are too general, not clearly related to the conference theme, or outside the fields of environmental innovation, circular economy, renewable energy transition, green technology, climate resilience, environmental governance, or sustainable development in emerging economies may be rejected at the initial screening stage.

Authors are advised to review the conference scope before submitting their manuscripts.

Peer Review

All manuscripts submitted to ICESS 2026 will undergo editorial screening and peer-review. The initial screening will assess scope alignment, originality, manuscript format, language quality, and compliance with author guidelines.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent reviewers. The review will consider originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the conference theme, quality of analysis, and academic contribution.

Further information on the review process is available here: Peer Review Process Details

Publication Ethics

ICESS 2026 is committed to maintaining academic integrity and responsible scholarly publication. Authors, reviewers, editors, and committee members are expected to uphold ethical standards throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

Submitted manuscripts must be original works of the authors. The manuscript must not have been previously published and must not be under consideration by another conference, journal, proceeding, or publication outlet at the same time.

ICESS 2026 does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate submission, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, or undisclosed conflicts of interest. Manuscripts may be screened for similarity. Papers that violate ethical standards may be rejected, withdrawn from the review process, or removed from publication consideration.

Authorship Policy

All listed authors must have made a meaningful contribution to the manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission to ICESS 2026.

Any change in authorship after submission must be clearly justified and approved by all authors. The committee may request written confirmation from all authors when necessary.

Plagiarism and Similarity Check

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism and properly cite all sources used in the study. Direct quotations, paraphrased ideas, data, figures, tables, and other scholarly materials must be appropriately acknowledged.

Manuscripts may be checked using similarity detection software. A high similarity score, unattributed text, copied figures, duplicate publication, or improper citation practice may result in rejection.

Data Integrity

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data, methods, analysis, and findings presented in their manuscripts. Data fabrication, data falsification, selective reporting, image manipulation, or misleading presentation of research results is strictly prohibited.

Where relevant, authors should be prepared to provide clarification regarding data sources, analytical procedures, or research methods during the review process.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or professional relationships that may influence the research, interpretation, or presentation of the manuscript.

Potential conflicts of interest should be declared clearly in the manuscript or during submission. If there is no conflict of interest, authors may state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Research Involving Human Participants

For studies involving human participants, survey respondents, interviews, institutional data, or sensitive information, authors must ensure that the research follows appropriate ethical standards. Authors should obtain informed consent where necessary and protect the confidentiality of participants.

Any personal, institutional, or confidential data must be handled responsibly and presented in a way that does not violate privacy or ethical requirements.

Revision and Final Submission

Authors whose manuscripts require revision must respond to reviewers’ comments carefully and resubmit the revised manuscript within the deadline determined by the committee.

The revised manuscript should address the reviewers’ comments clearly. The committee may request a response-to-reviewers document where necessary.

Publication Consideration

Acceptance for conference presentation does not automatically guarantee publication. Manuscripts will be considered for publication based on peer-review results, editorial decision, scope alignment, ethical compliance, formatting quality, and the requirements of the relevant publication outlet.

Author Confirmation

By submitting a manuscript to ICESS 2026, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original;
  • The manuscript has not been previously published;
  • The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere;
  • All authors have approved the submission;
  • The manuscript follows the official template and author guidelines;
